Mahabaleshwar, coined as the queen of the deccan's located 17.51 degree north latitude and 73.35 Degree east londitude, covering an area of 145.5 sq.km lying 1372 meters above sea level highest peak known as wilson point followed by cannought peak point.
Highest rainfall in 1896 being 402 inches, and where as the lowest being recorded 139 inches in 1899, an average rainfall of 210inches, min average temperatures 5 and maximum average temperature 29 degree celsius.
Monsoon starts by pre monsoon showers in the mid of may summer and picks up during mid june till the mid of september and
the retreating monsoon followed till late october. The monsoon being continuous downpour with cold foggy climate.
The weather then gets finer with sceni beauty until december, when it starts getting chillier with the new years generally accompanied with chilling temperatures, it starts to get a bit warmer during the month of february end with the summer arriving.
Summers are very pleasant with cool morning and evening breezy , with the afternoons not so warm. Surrounded by the forts of praapgadh, makarandgadh, kamalgadh, kangori, chandragarh, vasota, kenjalgadh and pandavgadh.
Garlanded by the majestic waterfalls of Lingmalla, Dhobi waterfall, Chainman waterfall, Bhilar waterfall and many other falls seen especially duriing the monsoons.
Water in mahabaleshwar from the wells is more tastier and sweet and being drawn from the depth of the earth it is cool and rich in content of minerals and pore particle and bacteria free, thus little water quenching the thirst and giving a good appetite to eat and perhaps another reason why visitors have regular and long holidays in mahabaleshwar.
Mahabaleshwar offers a clean and calm and a thoroughlt refreshing center of varoius activities , such as nature trails, adventuring,
boating, horse riding, trekking to historical forts and places, exploring the forest, caves and centres of pilgrimage, enjoying
the serene rivers and waterfalls and most interestingly the region also shelters ethnic tribal communities harnessing the wonderful

Nearest airport pune, 120kms.
Nearest railhead is Wathar, but Pune is more convenient railhead.
Mumbai _ Mahabaleshwar via Mahad - 247kms.
State Transport buses ply regularly between Pune - Mahabaleshwar and Mumbai - Mahabaleshwar.
Panchgani is situated 20kms east of Mahabaleshwar and spreads out over five hills. The name actually means "five lands" and in this very popular hill sattion, that bears the raj stamp all over it, you can have some excellent views of the flat surroundings. It is also famous for its boarding schools, its parsee bungalows, the fresh air, fresh strawberries and mulberries.
At an altitude of 1334m it is just 38m below Mahabaleshwar. These 38 m translate themselves into a breathtaking 20 kms approach from mahabaleshwar, that swoops around bends with abondon, offering heart stopping views of the river krishna on one side & the coastal plains on the other.
